The Friends of Minack Society have a good selection of second hand Minack Chronicles both paper back and hardback at very reasonable prices.

For those on holiday the books provide a lovely way to read and connect with the real life story of Derek and Jeannie Tangye whilst enjoying the area in which they were written.

Other items to be found there are DVDs – ‘A Cottage on the Cliff’ takes in an interview with Derek and Jeannie and a closer look at the immediate surroundings of Dorminack, the donkeys and the auction of Derek and Jeannie’s belongings at David Lay’s Penzance Auction House. The other is an amateur dvd made by FOMS committee member Patricia Wilnecker. 

Lamorna Pottery MapIt includes scenes of Glendorgal, Derek’s family home near Newquay, a walk along the South West Coastal path to an empty Dorminack, scenes around the cottage and a quick peep into the cottage.There are also, for sale, some framed photographs of Derek and Jeannie and other Minack related views.

 

 

You will also find membership forms, a copy of the latest Wavelength, and information regarding FOMS and some free literature re Oliver Land.

While you browse the books and choose something that will lift your spirits even higher whilst in Cornwall you can enjoy the hospitality of delicious refreshments at Lamorna Pottery.  You can even stay there as they are also a Bed and Breakfast establishment.
